REFLECTION QUESTIONCoastal, Ocean, and Engineered Sinks Learn about BiocharCan biochar provide additional benefits besides sequestering carbon?
Zoe Miller-Lee 4/25/2021 5:51 AMI had not heard about biochar before. I really like the idea of using waste to create a product that enriches soil but that the burning process doesn't itself contribute to air pollution -
REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricity Learn More about BiomassHad you ever heard of biomass technology before you took this challenge? What did you learn that surprised you? Share your new knowledge with your friends!
Zoe Miller-Lee 4/24/2021 7:33 AMI have heard of it. I had a friend in Colorado who was very interested in Earth Ships (the early 1970s version of biomass technology) and a few people who had taken on straw-bale construction -
REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricity Watch a Video about Methane DigestersWhat does your vision of a sustainable community look like? What would need to be changed in order for such vision to become reality?
Zoe Miller-Lee 4/24/2021 5:47 AMMy vision of a sustainable community looks like more people working in the community instead of commuting out of it, a strong community recycling program and composting program that uses the materials to generate materials and other products. The change would have to be a strong organization and planning group either from leaders in the community and/or government support and start up funding.
