REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricity Calculate My Carbon FootprintWhat stood out to you most about your carbon footprint? What surprised you or sparked curiosity? Where can you take most immediate action?
Maddie McCauley 4/05/2021 6:28 AMI was interested to learn where my carbon footprint landed compared to others in similar households. I learned that I am doing better than average in a number of areas, however, there are many things I can do to continue to reduce my footprint. Simple things like line drying clothing or turning lights off more often are things that I have pledged to do more of moving forward. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land Use Smaller PortionsWhile dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come from eating/serving smaller portions?
Maddie McCauley 4/01/2021 11:50 AMI don't feel like I'm over eating anymore. I am giving my body enough nutrients without over doing it and I feel much better throughout the day. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land Use Eat MindfullyMindful eating is healthier for us than eating with distractions. How does your eating experience differ when practicing mindfulness?
Maddie McCauley 4/01/2021 11:49 AMWhen I eat mindfully I feel like I am able to take the time to appreciate my meal and the food itself more. I have more time to reflect on my day and think about what else I hope to accomplish. It helps me slow down and be present.-
Dawn Dornbusch 4/01/2021 3:18 PMI so often wait until I am super hungry to eat and then tend to eat my meal very fast and eat too much. I am going to be more mindful of small bites throughout the day and a slower pace when eating. I like having "more time to reflect on the day"!
