It reduces the amount of waste that comes from my pantry. Sometimes things get overlooked or hidden behind things and suddenly you find them- and their expiration date has passed. So many shelf stable products especially, are good far beyond their expiration dates. Ultimately you can also save money by extening the life of pantry items that you might throw out if you weren't aware.

What was your process like for restructuring your trip? How can you avoid more air travel in the future?

I think air travel can be avoided by being more intentional in planning trips that are local, there is so much that I have not seen in the PNW and I've lived here for over 15 years. I could easily plan a dozen trips within a few hours driving distance from home, and create some amazing experiences.  My trip has not yet occurred but I did book a glamping weekend for my daughter and I to stay at a really awesome property in Banks, OR.
