This challenge has helped me get organized by donating items to the public library and a local thrift store that raises money for homeless children. My favorite completed task was donating my electronics instead of placing them in a landfill!

Unfortunately, they just plowed an entire lot of green grass in downtown Arlington Heights and are building luxury town homes. Maybe if they stopped doing this, it wouldn't drive the working class out of the area.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

How is your diet currently impacting deforestation? What can you do to decrease your negative impact and increase your positive impact?

I will now start looking more closely at the items I purchase especially when it comes to palm oil. I often use products with Sodium Laureth Sulfate and had no idea that this is part of the palm oil list.

Using food that is almost expired from supermarkets at a local restaurant in London and at a soup kitchen is genius. What a great story!

    Coastal, Ocean, and Engineered Sinks
Many states and countries have advisories on eating fish. Find out what is advised for your region. Do you think your diet choices fall within these guidelines? What steps do you need to take to make sure that they do?

I will look more closely at the packaging when I purchase fish to ensure they are not from farms. I didn't realize the impact it has on the habitat and the ecosystem.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

What have you noticed on your daily walks? What have you enjoyed? What infrastructure changes could make your walks more enjoyable or possible?

Definitely enjoying the nicer weather and being outside. Lots of birds chirping and home improvements going on in the neighborhood.
