I had heard the word biomass before but i had not researched it further. I learned that biomass can be a great solution to producing less fossil fuels and producing more clean energy.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Land Sinks Research Peatlands
Much of Indonesia's peatlands have been drained so they could be replaced with palm oil or pulp and paper plantations. How can you make choices that help to protect peatlands, even if you live far away from one?

I can take action by learning about the preservation of peatlands. Also, I can not eat foods that would take away from types of trees or plants grown in peatlands.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Land Sinks Learn More about Silvopasture
Had you heard of the term "silvopasture" before now? After learning more about it, what do you think is the biggest advantage of silvopasture?

No, I have not heard of the term “silvopasture”. After learning about it, the biggest benefit in my opinion is that the trees and soil have more nutrients to thrive, causing healthy forests that help the animals adapt to harsh weather.

Food, Agriculture, and Land Use Learn the Truth About Expiration Dates
How does knowing the difference between use by, sell by, and best by dates empower you to make better decisions?

It empowers me to make better decisions when talking about food waste because I now know that sometimes the date does not mean that the food has spoiled. It is still consumable. This is will help me to not waste as much food.
