REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land UseWhy do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our bodies, our planet, and other people?
Anvesh Gangadharan 4/18/2021 11:38 PMI feel the reason that people eat more meat is because of its abundance and affordability. Meat in a lot of third world countries is more of a luxury, owing to agricultural practices and weather conditions. I think having a source of protein is important but it needs to be sustainable. A lot of rainforests are being cleared out to make space for cattle to graze. Though vegetarian options that taste like meat are an option, the energy used to make it needs to also be considered. I would recommend reducing meat consumption to a healthy level that is only required for the type of work done e encouraged.
