REFLECTION QUESTIONLand SinksHow can spending more time outdoors enhance your sense of place -- your deep knowledge of and appreciation for your surroundings?
Robert Freel 4/15/2021 8:34 AMSpending time in the outdoors is a mental reset for me. It reminds me why I work so hard to enjoy the beauty that is located all over this planet!!! 3 days in Hells Canyon where there is still snow falling in parts and darn near 70 degrees in other parts!!! -
Robert Freel 4/01/2021 9:17 AMGot the dirt prepared and am allowing it to settle in then will begin the planting process!!!!! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land UseMindful eating is healthier for us than eating with distractions. How does your eating experience differ when practicing mindfulness?
Robert Freel 4/01/2021 9:15 AMA non distracted meal period allows the mind to focus on the food and the company that you are with. Allowing for conversation, self reflection and peace and quiet. Also when gathering with folks you may not have seen in a while, allows you to focus your attention on them and not twitter or ESPN. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land UseProducing food that goes uneaten squanders many resources—seeds, water, energy, land, fertilizer, hours of labor, financial capital. Which of these kinds of waste most motivates you to change your behavior regarding food waste? Why?
Robert Freel 3/25/2021 9:26 AMI have started a compost to utilize the food scraps that are created to then be used in my garden over the next 6 months to cut back on usage of fertilizers and other potential poisons!!!!!-
Jackie Brown 4/01/2021 5:50 PMWe save our veggie scraps in the freezer, then boil them and make vegetable stock, then compost the boiled scraps.
Looking forward to seeing pics of your garden Rob! -
