REFLECTION QUESTIONLand Sinks Buy BambooAre bamboo alternatives readily available in your community? If not, what are other sustainable alternatives?
Izzy Dempsey 4/14/2021 10:41 PMBamboo alternatives are somewhat available where I live, especially for gardening. Bamboo as a resource is available at hardware stores near me so I can make my own stuff with it. There are also furniture/home stores that sell bamboo products. A lot of it I may have to buy online which isn't ideal since it has to travel. I will try to find alternatives to these. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land Use Learn the Truth About Expiration DatesHow does knowing the difference between use by, sell by, and best by dates empower you to make better decisions?
Izzy Dempsey 4/14/2021 10:38 PMKnowing the difference between use by, sell by, and best by dates helps me recognize that those aren't cut off dates. I need to look/smell for actual signs rather than just go by the date. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land Use Keep Track of Wasted FoodAn average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. How would you rather use this money?
Izzy Dempsey 4/09/2021 8:23 PMI would rather spend the money I'd save from not wasting food on planting a sustainable garden.
