I will Practice the "5 Rs" — refuse, reduce, reuse, repurpose, and recycle — to reduce my waste more than I can with just recycling alone.
Transportation
Explore Other Transportation Solutions
All Transportation Solutions
I will spend at least 30 minutes researching other Drawdown Transportation Solutions.
Transportation
Use Muscle Power
Multiple Transportation Solutions
I will cut my car trip mileage by only taking necessary trips, and I will only use muscle-powered transportation for all other trips.

REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Go by BikeHow does using human-powered transportation make you feel compared to using other methods of transportation?
Kashmin Dalal 4/24/2021 12:50 PMBiked to campus today & felt very energized to begin studying because of it. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Use Muscle PowerHow do your transportation choices affect your engagement in your community? Does your experience or enjoyment differ while walking, riding transit, biking or driving?
Kashmin Dalal 4/24/2021 12:47 PMI biked to campus in the rain today. Genuinely loved it. I have been struggling to utilize biking as a means for transportation because I know I can default and drive to my destination with more comfort and ease. But I called a friend on my commute and the ride was really enjoyable. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONIndustry Reduce Single-Use DisposablesWhat single-use items (e.g. straws, coffee cups, vegetable bags, plastic bags) do you regularly use? What could be substituted instead?
Kashmin Dalal 4/23/2021 11:07 AMToday, I have utilized my to-go cup with coffee I made in the morning, brought my thermal water bottle on the go with me, and have trail mix that I am bringing from home in efforts to not buy quick and easy snacks from restaurants, which are wrapped in single-use items. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Go for a Daily WalkWhat have you noticed on your daily walks? What have you enjoyed? What infrastructure changes could make your walks more enjoyable or possible?
Kashmin Dalal 4/22/2021 7:42 AMI have noticed how I truly enjoy walking. I can walk and listen to a podcast/audiobook for 30-45 minutes for leisure. I am now going to start walking to and from my apt to school which is a 45 min commute. Sometimes I may walk or bike.-
Fred Desai 4/22/2021 11:12 PMI heard a program on the hidden brain on habits. One technique they gave to form good habit is to combine it with something enjoyable u like to do. The example they gave was that u can decide u will watch your favorite show only when u r exercising. That will motivate u to exercise.
Your example of listening to a podcast while walking reminded me of that. U got 2 benefits in one shot.
Keep it up.
