REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land Use Eat MindfullyMindful eating is healthier for us than eating with distractions. How does your eating experience differ when practicing mindfulness?
Naomi Blaes 4/07/2021 1:28 AMI find that I eat slower when eating mindfully, and ultimately eat less as I realise I am fuller quicker. This means left over food is used for lunch the next day without any waste, and my meal has gone further. I also find that my boyfriend and I talk more without any technological distractions, whether it be about our day, something we were thinking about, concerns we have, plans we have for that weekend etc. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBuildings Research Retrofitting IncentivesHow can you share what you have learned in your research with others?
Naomi Blaes 4/01/2021 6:35 AMThrough researching I have found that Nottingham secured a £5 million grant from the European Regional Development Fund to implemented the project "Deep Retrofit Energy Model" between 2014 and 2020.
The project objectives were:
1. Prove that deep retrofit can be achieved without the need for financial subsidy.
2. It will show net zero energy can be achieved by this model.
Benefits:
1. Improvements to over 150 Nottingham City Homes (NCH) properties.
2. Lifting residents out of fuel poverty
3. Reducing carbon emissions
4. Improving air quality.
In order to share this knowledge I will direct people the Nottingham City Council and campaign to have more projects like this introduced in the race to reach zero emissions!!
