REFLECTION QUESTIONCoastal, Ocean, and Engineered Sinks Smart Seafood ChoicesMany states and countries have advisories on eating fish. Find out what is advised for your region. Do you think your diet choices fall within these guidelines? What steps do you need to take to make sure that they do?
Winnie Blackwell 4/26/2021 12:18 PMI had no idea there were so man fish advisories. I definitely need to address my crab and shrimp intake because those are most popular with me and I haven't paid enough attention to where they come from or how they're caught. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land Use Give a MicroloanGlobally, women typically invest a higher proportion of their earnings in their families and communities than men. Why do you think that is?
Winnie Blackwell 4/05/2021 8:06 AMI think women are just community-minded. We want to save as many people as we can and our families/communities are the easiest place to start. It might hold us back but that's a trade off many of us deem worthy. I know I certainly do. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricity Watch a Video about Methane DigestersWhat does your vision of a sustainable community look like? What would need to be changed in order for such vision to become reality?
Winnie Blackwell 4/05/2021 8:05 AMEco-friendly transportation readily available, hybrid buses, more charging ports for hybrid passenger vehicles, more recycling and composting sites. I think it's a community mindset shift that needs to happen first. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land Use Keep Track of Wasted FoodAn average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. How would you rather use this money?
Winnie Blackwell 4/05/2021 8:02 AMI would much rather use the money to donate to causes I'm passionate about. -
